This
isn't the free monkey promised in other ads but it was a monkey nonetheless.
The big problem was that I was broke and $18.95 might as well have been
a million bucks.
The other problem was that the ad was really old when I found it and at 8 years old I was already a hardened mail order skeptic. I figured that I should send the compay a letter to confirm everything before I sent any money, you know, to make sure the offer was still valid. But stamps don't grow on trees you know so I spent the next couple of weeks looking for current versions of the ad with no luck. Figuring that I was too late, I gave up the idea entirely which was okay because I didn't have the money anyway.
I still wonder what it would have been like to have gotten a monkey in the mail. :(
