Polaris Nuclear Submarine
Chris -- Well, would you help me build my submarine? I
mean this project kinda reeks of father, son quality time potential.
Fred -- There's only so many hours in the day. I can't spend time with
you and drink coffee.
-Get
a Life
The
Polaris Nuclear Submarine is of course the Holy Grail of comic book coolness.
According to the ad it fires rockets and torpedoes, it is over 7 feet
long, and it is big enough to take two kids on an underwater adventure
they won't soon forget. Is it strong? Hell yeah, it was made from 200
pound test fiberboard and everything. It was so heavy that you even had
to add 75 cents for shipping.
I wanted one of these really,
really bad but I could never figure out how I'd get it to the lake. My
parents sure as hell wouldn't let me take out a submarine by myself so
that meant they sure as hell weren't about to help me haul it to the lake.
Once again, I was out of luck.
These ads were the inspiration
for what was possibly the the funniest episode of Get
a Life. I can't recommend that you buy the DVDs because they only
put a few episodes on each one. Such a pity.
