Venus Flytraps

A plant that eats meat? How could I not order these! I was extremely disappointed when the envelope came and it was just a few skinny bulbs and a handful of dirt but I was not going to be denied my dream of having a carniverous plant.

The instructions said that I needed either distilled water or rain water and not having a clue what distilled water was, I waited for what seemed like an eternity for rain. I planted the bulbs, watered them with my precious rain water, and sure enough, a short time later I had venus fly traps!

Sadly, they didn't live long. I fed them bugs and tormented them to make them move but I think the real killer was the hamburger I gave them. That is what the instructions said to feed them if I couldn't find bugs but as it turns out, hamburger kills them.
